Dental Veneers

Expert veneer treatments designed to transform the appearance of your smile and give you lasting confidence.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells, typically crafted from porcelain, that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve their shape, size, color, or overall appearance. They are one of the most effective cosmetic treatments available for creating a natural-looking, long-lasting smile transformation.

Veneers do more than improve appearance. By covering damaged enamel and reinforcing weakened tooth structure, they can also protect teeth from further wear, making them both a cosmetic and a functional investment in your long-term oral health.

Your veneer treatment is fully customized to your facial structure, tooth shape, and aesthetic goals. Your provider will guide you through every step, from shade selection to final placement, so you know exactly what to expect and feel confident in your result.

Here is what most patients can expect from the veneer process at a glance:

Types of Veneers

The right veneers depend on your goals, and the current condition of your teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

The most common and durable veneer option available. Porcelain veneers are custom-crafted in a dental lab to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth, then bonded to the front surface of the tooth after a small amount of enamel is removed. With proper care and regular dental visits, porcelain veneers typically last between ten and fifteen years before needing to be replaced.

When Are Veneers Recommended?

Veneers work well for patients looking to correct one or more cosmetic concerns with a long-lasting, natural-looking solution.

Chipped or cracked teeth

Veneers protect against further enamel wear and sensitivity, making them a functional investment, not just a cosmetic one.

Staining that won't respond to whitening

Deep or intrinsic discoloration caused by medication, fluorosis, or aging that whitening treatments cannot address.

Gaps or spacing concerns

Small gaps between teeth can be closed with veneers without the need for orthodontic treatment in many cases.

Worn or uneven teeth

Worn or uneven teeth that can be restored to a balanced,
uniform appearance.

What To Expect

1

Consultation & planning

Your Smart Dental Network provider assesses your teeth, discusses your aesthetic goals, and determines which type of veneer is right for you. Digital imaging or mock-ups may be used to preview your result.

2

Preparation and impressions

A small amount of enamel is removed from the surface of each tooth to make room for the veneer. Impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab where your custom veneers are crafted.

3

Placement & bonding

Once your veneers are ready your provider checks the fit and shade before permanently bonding them to your teeth. Minor adjustments are made until the result feels and looks
exactly right.

Recovery & Aftercare

Most patients adapt quickly to their veneers. Here is what to keep in mind in the days and weeks after placement.

Day 1-3

Settling in

Your veneers are bonded and ready to go. You may notice a slight adjustment period as you get used to the feel of your new smile, which is completely normal.

Days 3 – 7

Getting used to the feel

Your bite may feel slightly different at first. This is normal and usually settles within a week. Contact your provider if
discomfort persists.

Long-Term

Maintaining your veneers

Avoid biting hard objects, wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, and maintain regular cleanings to protect your investment.
