History Behind Our Clinic

North Providence Dental Associates was founded with a simple but meaningful mission, to provide high-quality dental care in an environment where patients feel genuinely cared for like family. Sophie Cochran, DMD

Dr. Sophie Cochran earned her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Vermont and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she received an award in esthetic dentistry. She is also a proud member of the American Dental Association. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she has made New England her home and appreciates its vibrant culture—cold winters included.

During her clinical training, Dr. Cochran developed a strong passion for general and preventive dentistry and values building long-term relationships with her patients. She is committed to staying current in dental research by using evidence-based dentistry, including adhesive and biomimetic techniques in her daily practice. She prioritizes patient comfort, education, and autonomy while delivering the highest standard of care.

Outside the office, Dr. Cochran loves traveling with her husband and exploring new cuisines and environments. In the winter months, she spends her weekends skiing with her family. She also enjoys painting, ceramics, and cooking in her free time.

Daniel Nho, DMD, MS

Daniel Nho, DMD, MS, is an experienced endodontist with a diverse background in both military and civilian dentistry. He earned his bachelor's and dental degrees from Rutgers University and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. After serving as a general dentist in the United States Navy, he completed a two-year advanced education program in Endodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned his specialty certificate and Master of Science degree. Dr. Nho is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists.

Kevin T. Eagan, DDS, MPH

Dr. Kevin Eagan grew up in Foxborough, Massachusetts and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) from Williams College. He then attended Columbia University, earning both his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees as Columbia’s HRSA-funded Training Fellow for the Care of Underserved Populations. He then completed a residency in general dentistry at the Providence VA Medical Center.

Dr. Eagan’s clinical philosophy is centered on the principle of evidence-based practice, through which he integrates oral health with overall physical and mental health. He performs the full scope of general dentistry, and he has a special interest in using advanced techniques to manage dental anxiety and phobias.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Eagan is a nationally recognized advocate for public health. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Rhode Island Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, American Academy of the History of Dentistry, Medical Reserve Corps, and Rotary International. He also enjoys performing the Highland bagpipes and French horn in various groups in the region.

Brian Goldstein, DDS

Dr. Brian Goldstein is a trusted periodontist in Rhode Island. Dr. Goldstein was born in St. Louis, MO, and raised in Rochester, NY. He attended dental school at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He then received his surgical training in Periodontology and Dental Implantology from the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis, IN, and his Masters of Science in Dentistry from Indiana University. Dr. Goldstein is Board certified in Periodontology and Dental Implantology.

He believes in a comprehensive, personalized approach to dental treatment. His patients are his top priority. His favorite part of his job is communicating with them listening to their concerns, educating them about their oral healthcare needs, linking to systemic health, and supporting and empowering them in their journey towards optimum oral health.

He currently serves as a lieutenant colonel (O5) in the US Army Reserve Component and is a Global War on terrorism veteran by providing direct operational support during Operation Inherent Resolve. He has been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years and, in that time, has served on the faculty of the following Institutions: the University of Rochester Eastman Institute of Oral Health; Yale-New Haven Hospital: and the Providence RI VAMC.

Dr. Goldstein is passionate about dental education, dental outreach, promoting healthcare literacy and community oral healthcare. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children.
