History Behind Our Clinic

Middletown Family Dental was founded with a simple mission to provide high-quality dental care in a warm and welcoming environment where every patient feels treated like family. Colleen Yazgi, DMD

Dr. Colleen Yazgi is thrilled to have relocated to Rhode Island and joined the Middletown Family Dental team. Dr. Colleen Yazgi attended Montclair State University with a major in Biology and a minor in Art. She continued her education at Tufts School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Yazgi is knowledgeable in the most advanced dental technologies, including CAD/CAM dentistry, restoration of dental implants, and Invisalign. Dr. Colleen Yazgi is enthusiastic about continuing education and values keeping current with the latest technology and materials to provide state-of-the-art treatment options to her patients.

Leonard Taddei, DMD

Dr. Len Taddei was born and raised in Connecticut, coming to Rhode Island to attend and graduate from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He earned his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and immediately returned to Rhode Island, where he served three years as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. While stationed there, his Providence College connection helped him remain in Newport to join the dental practice of fellow alumni, Dr. Gerry Rogers.

Following Dr. Roger’s retirement, Dr. Taddei moved the practice to its present location on Aquidneck Avenue, where it has resided since 1994. Besides his dental practice and maintaining active involvement in the community, Dr. Taddei enjoys traveling with his wife Kathleen and their three daughters, as well as cycling the roads and backroads of the area.

Mia Baker, DMD

Dr. Mia Baker is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). While at Case Western, Dr. Baker participated in multiple academic organizations, assuming leadership roles in the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity and the American Student Dental Association.

For her undergraduate education, she attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, where she was accepted into the accelerated Pre-Professional Scholars Program, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree in 3 years.

Most recently, Dr. Baker earned her Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. She is Invisalign certified and has experience working with the latest digital technologies in dentistry. Dr. Baker enjoys working with her patients to meet mutual treatment goals and aims to make their overall outlook on dental treatment a more positive experience.

In her free time, Dr. Baker loves traveling with family and friends, and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach!
