Melissa James, DMD

Dr. Melissa James earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree along with her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her residency nearby at the Providence VA Medical Center, focusing on comprehensive care for veterans and developing complex treatment planning skills. In 2021, she was recognized with both a Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health Award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry and an Outstanding Achievement in Operative Dentistry Award from The Academy of Operative Dentistry. 

Dr. James is proficient in many aspects of dentistry, including implant restorations, simple and surgical extractions with ridge preservation, operative dentistry, crown and bridge treatment, endodontic therapy, preventative and pediatric dentistry, sealants, and dental exams. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Rhode Island Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega Dental International Dental Society. Dr. James is experienced and certified in minimal sedation dentistry and Invisalign. Recently married, Dr. James enjoys spending time with her husband and traveling together.
