John Waterman, DDS

Treating people, not just teeth.

“What would I do if I were in my patient’s shoes?” is the question Dr. Waterman has been asking himself for almost three decades. Having worked in a number of public health and private practice settings he has developed a style of practice which focuses on educating people to make informed treatment decisions, drawing on years of professional experience and through a network of trusted specialists. He firmly believes that what CAN be done is not always what SHOULD be done, and that active listening and discussion with each patient is essential to give them ownership of their oral (and overall) health. He is a graduate of The Loomis Chaffee School, Butler University, and the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, Dental School, University of Maryland.

Having grown up in West Hartford, Dr. Waterman now lives in Middlefield with his wife and daughters, and enjoys hikes with Pollyanna, their energetic goldendoodle. You’ll also find him singing at St. James’s Church in WeHa, dabbling in triathlon, and creating images with both digital and film cameras.
