History Behind Our Clinic

Plainville Dental Group was founded with a simple vision to create a dental practice where patients feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and cared for like family. From the beginning, our focus has been on providing exceptional dental care while building meaningful relationships within the Plainville community.

As dental technology and treatment techniques evolved, so did our commitment to delivering the highest standard of care. We invested in advanced technology, modern procedures, and continued education to ensure our patients receive comfortable, efficient, and effective treatment in a modern dental environment. At the same time, we remained dedicated to preserving the warm and personal atmosphere that has always defined our practice.

David R. Edelson, DMD, MAGD

As a leading dentist, Dr. Edelson is dedicated to providing the best and most up-to-date treatments for their patients. This includes working with dental implants, Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP®) for treating gum disease, Planmeca CAD/CAM or PlanmecaFit restorations, and 3D Cone Beam Collimated Tomography or CBCT. All of these technologies are designed to provide the best long-term results while keeping patient comfort in mind.

Recently named “Best Dentist in Plainville”

Dr. Edelson is pleased to announce that he has been awarded both Fellowship and Diplomate status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Fellowship and Diplomate status are awarded to doctors that have fulfilled the requirements of continuing education, implant placement and restoration and written and oral examination. He will receive his award at the ICOI Summer Implant Prosthetic Symposium in Chicago this August.

The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) was founded in 1972. Devoted to providing implant education to the entire dental team to better serve its patients, the ICOI is not only the world’s largest dental implant organization, but it is also the world’s largest provider of continuing dental implant education.

The ICOI is an association of general dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, laboratory technicians, auxiliaries, industry representatives, researchers, faculty members, pre and post doctoral graduate dental students.

Taryn Yost, DDS, MBA

Dr. Taryn Yost is originally from small town Athens, Ohio but has spent many years living overseas in Europe and Southeast Asia. She attended her hometown college, Ohio University for both her Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration. After working in corporate marketing for several years, she decided to explore the exciting world of dentistry. Dr. Yost earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University with academic honors. While in dental school, she was an active member in many academic and volunteer groups including the Association of Women Dentists and Give Kids a Smile. After dental school, she set her heart on moving to the East Coast and to advance her dental expertise. Dr. Yost completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry certification at the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Yost is passionate about providing comprehensive care to patients with a focus on reducing dental anxiety and creating smiles that best suit each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Yost also loves learning and furthering her dental education. She keeps up with the latest dental advancements by participating in American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Connecticut State Dental Association.

Outside the dental office, Dr. Yost enjoys reading and traveling with her friends and family. Now that Dr. Yost, her husband and their fur-kids call Connecticut home, she enjoys exploring all that Connecticut has to offer.
