What Are Good Oral Health Practices?

Good oral health begins with consistent daily habits and regular professional care. Brushing at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily help remove plaque, prevent cavities, and protect your gums from disease. A balanced diet, limited sugar intake, and staying hydrated also play an important role in maintaining strong teeth and healthy tissues. In addition to home care, routine dental visits allow for professional cleanings, early detection of issues, and personalized guidance tailored to your needs. By practicing good oral hygiene and keeping up with regular checkups, you can protect your smile, prevent future problems, and support your overall health for years to come.

What Happens During a Preventative Care Visit?

During a preventative care visit at Middlebury Dental Clinic, our team evaluates your oral health to identify potential concerns early and help keep your smile healthy. Your visit may include a professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, and digital X-rays when needed.

We’ll also check your bite, look for signs of oral health concerns, and provide personalized guidance for brushing, flossing, and at-home care. Our goal is to help prevent future problems while making sure you leave feeling informed, comfortable, and confident in your oral health.
